The Titanic Chaussee Berlin opened its doors in Chausseestraße in Mitte in February 2016. The 389 modern, well-equipped rooms and suites, a Mediterranean à la carte restaurant, as well as a health club with 3,000 m² and a swimming pool will ensure a pleasant and relaxing ambience. A large ballroom of 1,800 m² and 15 conference rooms equipped with the latest technology are also part of the exclusive facilities at the new 4-star hotel.
The Amano Group from Berlin is expanding its presence in the capital: The Hotel Zoe at Hackescher Markt opened for guests in February 2016, too. Ten of the hotel’s 108 rooms will be barrier-free. The design is simple and elegant: Dark accessories, untreated concrete, and warm light sources complement each other perfectly. The boutique hotel offers a roof terrace with views of the TV tower and a spacious breakfast area with a conservatory. The Gin & Tonic Bar, which resided in the currently being built Amano Friedrichstraße, will move into the ground floor, fascinates with its retro style and fine details in gold.
The Amano Home for long-stay guests opens in May on Torstraße. 34 apartments with living/bedroom and bathroom will be available on six floors. Small kitchen units are skilfully fitted into the furniture of the 34 m² to 52 m² large apartments. Guests can make use of various services such as a laundry service and can enjoy the green patio. The ground floor will house a café.
In 2016, work also begins on the Amano Friedrichstraße: Just a few minutes away from the Friedrichstadt-Palast and the exclusive shops in Friedrichstraße, this 3-star hotel will offer 100 rooms and a modern hotel bar with a wide range of cocktails from 2017.
The bath house Oderberger Straße in Prenzlauer Berg, established in 1902, became Hotel Oderberger at the beginning of the year. After four years of renovation, 72 four-star rooms and two suites will open for guests. In addition, 20 conference rooms will be available. A restaurant for German haute cuisine will be established in March, the bath with sauna and wellness areas will reopen in October.
The Hotel Provocateur in Brandenburgische Straße, not far from the Kurfürstendamm, opens in July 2016. This hotel with 59 rooms is elegantly designed in black and red. The foyer and bar are adorned with sweeping chandeliers. The initiators of the project, the Frankfurt hoteliers Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu, promise a sensual, burlesque and urban hotel design, complete with an Indochinese-French restaurant.
Three new hotels are all due to open in 2016 at Ostbahnhof. As of April, 204 rooms on seven floors will be available for visitors to Berlin at the Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof. From the site on the corner of Holzmarktstraße and Andreasstraße, the Oberbaumbrücke and the East Side Gallery are within walking distance, and Alexanderplatz is just two train stops away. Highlights of the 3-star hotel will include 42-inch HD flat-screen TVs and an in-house fitness centre.
The Novum Winters Hotel Sophia opens in July 2016. This 3-star hotel has 133 comfortable rooms and suites overlooking a verdant inner courtyard. The hotels features the “Intermezzo” bar with a wide range of cocktails and snacks, an à la carte restaurant, and a fitness room. The three conference rooms are fitted with the latest audiovisual equipment and can accommodate up to 45 people.
The Meininger group’s fifth hotel in Berlin will be completed by autumn 2016. The Meininger Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery will then provide 206 single, double and multi-bed rooms with 704 beds on seven floors. A lounge, bar, games zone and guest kitchen will also be available for visitors.
Construction on the Hotel Capri at Petriplatz on the Spree Island has been underway since June 2015. 144 rooms on seven floors will be available for long-staying guests on a historical site: The glass floor in the entrance hall provides a full view of the remains of cellars from old town houses. The opening is expected to be early 2017.
The 1,125 rooms at the Hotel Estrel are to be extended by 814 rooms with the construction of the 46-floor Estrel Tower. At 176 metres, the new tower will be roughly two and a half times as high as the Hotel Estrel, making it the tallest hotel tower in Germany. The opening is scheduled for 2017.
A 118-metre-high building is currently under construction at Breitscheidplatz directly by the Zoologischer Garten train station. The Upper West building will accommodate the 582-room Motel One hotel on the lower 18 floors. The terrace of the breakfast area on the tenth floor will offer a breathtaking view of the bustling metropolis. The building is expected to be completed by summer 2017. The opening of another Motel One at a height of 60 metres is also planned for 2017 in Grunerstraße near Alexanderplatz. It will be the largest Motel One in Germany with 708 rooms. The highlight: a sky bar on the 19th floor.
The Lindner hotel me and all will be providing around 165 rooms in the new Volt Berlin shopping and entertainment centre at the southern end of Alexanderplatz. The Volt will house the urban-style boutique hotel, as well as shops and restaurants, a surfing wave and a wind tunnel. The 4-star hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2017.
In the next few years, a new city complex will be built directly by the East Side Gallery, with the Music Box event hall, a cinema, a bowling alley, and restaurants and bars. The new Mercedes Platz will be home to the 119-room Indigo Berlin City – East Side boutique hotel and the Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East with 254 rooms. They are both scheduled to open in late 2017 or early 2018.
The Hampton by Hilton Berlin City Centre Alexanderplatz, which will be the chain’s biggest hotel worldwide, will open in the second half of 2017. On the corner of Otto-Braun-Straße and Mollstraße, it will offer 344 modern rooms on nine floors. Breakfast will be free for all guests and the HUB Bar as well as the fitness centre will be open 24/7.
Barceló is coming to Berlin. The Spanish group’s second hotel in Germany will be completed at Berlin Hauptbahnhof by 2018. This 4-star hotel will provide 272 rooms and suites, as well as a conference centre for business travellers and tourists.
