Inspired by traditional Balinese design, the upscale Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran is scheduled to open in 2014 and will offer 270 rooms including 70 suites. In addition, the resort will feature 70 branded residences.
As well as an all-day dining restaurant, a roof top lounge and lobby café, the resort will include a 500-metre-square ballroom, business centre, kids club, meeting rooms, gym, library and a spa facility. A boutique retail area will feature a range of exclusive shops.
“Bali is a holidaymaker’s paradise and the exclusive beach location of this resort with its unrestricted views of the bay is certain to be hugely popular,” said Andreas Mattmüller, chief operating officer for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East and Asia. “As the company’s first hotel in Indonesia this is a perfect place to start.”
“We are delighted Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will be managing this outstanding property,” said Soegianto Nagaria, president director of PT Hotelindo Permata Jimbaran, the resort’s owning company. “We are confident that the combination of warm Swiss hospitality and this idyllic setting will be a huge success.”
The resort’s inviting setting blends contemporary design with traditional Balinese decor while meandering pools and lush landscaped gardens reflect the natural wonder of Bali and provide an idyllic haven for relaxation with an inspired sense of place.
Jimbaran beach is just a 200-metre stroll away along the resort’s private road offering endless white sands populated with traditional shacks serving grilled fish and fishermen landing their catch of the day.
The resort is 4km from the thriving centre of Nusa Dua, 8km from the lively nightlife of Kuta Beach and 45km from the cultural treasures, artistic highlights, soaring coconut trees and stepped paddy fields of Ubud. The International Airport is only 6.5km away.
The Jimbaran resort is one of nine new hotels set to be opened by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts across Asia by 2014. The region has been a major focus for expansion by the upscale Swiss hospitality company and already Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts operates two hotels in Thailand, two in Vietnam and one each in India, Philippines and Singapore.
